Light and Identity: Studio Due lights up the Vitorchiano Cliff.
On the occasion of the spectacular event “L’Accensione della Rupe”, held on August 1st, 2025 during the traditional Sagra del Cavatello, Studio Due delivered a unique lighting project, transforming the peperino cliff that supports the medieval village of Vitorchiano into a musically synchronized light sculpture.
Lighting Technology
The highlight of the installation was the Archiled 400RGBWA, a high-performance LED fixture equipped with RGBW + amber LED sources, chosen for its ability to enhance the texture and tones of volcanic stone with warm, natural light.
Custom Technical Solutions
Given the site’s complexity and uniqueness, every technical component was customized:
• Optics: rearranged to achieve multi-level light distribution
• Finishes: tailored to blend seamlessly with the natural landscape.
• Mounting brackets: custom-built for safe, non-invasive installation on difficult terrain.
A fully in-house Studio Due project
The entire project was designed, developed, and executed by Studio Due’s in-house team, who managed:
• Preliminary lighting design, analyzing angles, distances, and chromatic results on the volcanic surface.
• On-site installation, respecting environmental and architectural constraints.
• Dynamic light programming, tailored to the morphology of the cliff.
• Live show execution, fully synchronized with audio and countdown moments.
